The Candid Frame #15 - My Personal Work

Due to some technical difficulties, this episode of The Candid Frame is not an interview. Instead, I discuss my recent journey as a photographer and my attempts to learn a new way of seeing.

We will be returning to our regular schedule of interviews in two weeks.

You can find more images about that reflect today's episode by visiting my blog.

This week I recommend the work of William Eggleston.

Fantastic show once again, Ibarionex.
I've been tuned in since show #1 and recently spent the last two weeks on a beach in Mallorca listening to them all again. Fantastic!

I love the presentation style and your journey of discovery.

This maybe a 'fill-in' show but what an interesting one. It is good to hear others voyages of discovery. Those simple shots have made me think of looking at my normal environment in a different way. Still don't think I have the courage to approach people in the way you describe.

Although I signed-up to listen to your interviews, one like this very occasionally would be refreshing.

Thanks for taking the time to post your podcasts.

Ibarionex, I really enjoyed 'My personal 9/11'. It was great to hear about your response to the workshop and to see those fantastic images - love your use of color. Now I feel really ashamed for not responding when you asked if we'd be interested in hearing about your own experiences on the previous show. Apologies for that, and please, go right ahead and talk about your own thing when ever you want to.

Ibarionex, thanks for letting know about the show. I really enjoyed it. I have some catching up to do with some of your other shows....
I will be signing up to hear more. I really enjoyed the images that went along with the show. Checking out how dilligent you are with posting your experiences and work is hopefully keeping me inspired to do a little of the same. Havent heard too much from the Santa Fe group. I will be down in San Diego next week, so I will be looking Martin up. I will need to be up at Pierce College in a few weeks so. Once the meeting is firmed up< I will give you a call, see if we can't hook up somewhere int he way up or back to the OC.

Cheers

Hi Ibarionex, really enjoyed seeing your images and hearing about your experiences in this podcast.

I'm still working my way through the show archives and am really enjoying discovering great work by photographers previously unknown to me.

Looking forward to the next 'cast.

Even though this wasn't a "normal" show, it was my favorite one so far! The honesty and emotion that went along with your stories really brought so much into perspective. This show was a blessing in disguise.

Thank you all for your kind comments. It's really appreciated. It really makes up for the frustation I experienced with trying to salvage the last interview recording.

I've recently met and conducted with several great photographers. I think you're going to really enjoy the shows through the rest of the year. I have some amazing people lined up.

Thanks again for all the support.

Hi, great show and great photographs in the enhanced podcast.
I enjoyed listening to you talking about your own personal work. Great to hear how photography evolves with the person.

Another good show.

One comment though. Please provide a plain MP3 version of your show if you plan on continuing to use the Quicktime m4a audio format. M4a files don't play nicely with Winamp or many mp3 players (basically they only work on Ipod).

Keep up the good work.

Hi Ibarionex,

I love your podcasts. Your interviews are always carried out in a proffesional manner, with great questions that provoke informative answers. Please keep up the great work.

I do have one request though. Please provide an mp3 version of your podcast for those of us who don't use, or plan on using, an iPod.

Thanks again,
Andy Garcia

It was a real pleasure listening to you speak about your work tonight and a bonus to actually view the images via the enhanced podcast. This technology of podcasting has changed the way that we all learn and share hasn't it. Thank you for taking the time to create these thoughtful and informative shows. Like a lot of your listeners I'm sure, I gain a lot of insight into the creative process behind the eye behind the camera. Keep up the excellent work. I'll continue to listen. Thanks! -Warner

Ibarionex - thank you for such an honest exposure of your own development. It's truly inspiring to me as I'm going through something similar myself, learning how to "see".

It's also admirable that you would share with us your approach, successes and failures. Thanks for doing it, and I look forward to hearing more as I catch up on all these episodes.
